Will Ferrell is a man who wears many hats, but one of his most famous is his pointy Elf cap donned in the eponymous 2003 contemporary Christmas classic. Will I be imbued with holiday cheer upon my first bite, or will my face cringe into an unrecognizable James Caan-like countenance?

Ingredients:

For Buddy’s Pasta:

• Spaghetti
• Tomato sauce
• Chocolate chips
• M&Ms
• 1 fudge Pop-Tart
• Marshmallows
• Maple syrup
• Caramel sauce
• Chocolate sauce

For Babish’s Pasta:

• A pinch of salt
• Spaghetti
• Tomato sauce
• 1 Tbsp butter
• A drizzle of olive oil

Method

For Buddy's Pasta:

1. Boil water and cook spaghetti according to package.
2. Toss pasta in tomato sauce.
3. Top pasta with a handful of chocolate chips and a handful of M&Ms. Crumble the fudge poptart on top. Top the pasta with a handful of marshmallows, a glug of syrup, some caramel sauce, and some chocolate sauce.

For Babish's Pasta:

1. Salt and boil water. Add pasta to water. Cook the pasta so it is slightly underdone.
2. In a pan, heat tomato sauce over medium-high heat until bubbling.
3. Drain pasta and add to sauce. Give it a good flip and add butter. Melt and incorporate butter. Drizzle in some olive oil and toss to combine. Plate and enjoy.
