Margaritas inspired by Archer
This week, H Jon Benjamin, the voice of Sterling Archer himself, joins us to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. We're appropriately recreating one of Archer's many cocktails of choice: the classic margarita. A seemingly simple drink until you try to make one without doing your research in front of an audience of millions, the margarita can be taken to soaring highs or devastating lows with five simple ingredients and a cocktail shaker. Come hang out and let's celebrate together/apart!
Ingredients
Archer’s Margarita Ingredients:
Pre-made Margarita Sour Mix
Tequila
Ice
True Margarita Ingredients:
1 ½ oz freshly squeezed lime juice
3 oz agave tequila
1 ½ oz Cointreau
Ice
Limes, for garnish (optional)
Salt, for garnish (optional)
Method
Archer’s Margarita Method:
In a cocktail glass, fill to the brim with ice and add 4 parts margarita mix to 1 part tequila.
Stir using a bar spoon or any stirring utensil until everything is fully incorporated.
True Margarita Method:
If a salted rim is preferred, start by cutting a lime in half then rubbing the lime on the rim of the glass before dipping glass down into kosher salt.
In a shaker, add 3 ounces of agave tequila, 1 ½ ounces of Cointreau, and 1 ½ ounces of freshly squeezed lime juice.
Pour into a shaker and shake vigorously before pouring into the salt-rimmed glass full of ice.
Garnish with a slice of lime on the side of the glass.
